REACHING THE SPECIAL NEEDS COMMUNITY WITH JESUS.

We are so excited to partner with the Tim Tebow Foundation, which hosts an event each year known as Night to Shine.  This worldwide event is centered on honoring and valuing people with special needs and sharing the love of Jesus.  Night to Shine will be held on Friday, February 12, 2027 at Meriden Evangelical Free Church.

"The event is open to anyone living with disabilities, ages 14 and older. Each event is unique to its location, but some cornerstone activities included across all of them are a red carpet entrance complete with a warm welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi, hair and makeup stations, shoeshines, limousine rides, karaoke, gifts, dinner, a Sensory Room, a Respite Room for parents and caregivers, dancing, and a crowning ceremony where every guest is honored as a King or a Queen - the way God sees them each and every day."

Where is Night to Shine?

Meriden Evangelical Free Church - 412 E 3rd St, Meriden, IA 51037

What should I wear?

This event is a formal prom, so our guests are asked to wear modest dresses or dress pants & ties. Wear whatever makes you feel the most beautiful or handsome!

Will there be food?

Absolutely!  We will do our best to accommodate any allergies or basic dietary needs, except puree food. Be sure to include dietary needs on your registration form.

Do I need a caregiver present?

If a guest has a medical, toileting, or feeding need that requires a trained staff member, the caregiver must stay with them and should register as a volunteer.   If the guest does not have these needs, the caregiver is free to have an evening off or enjoy our respite area.

Do I need a date?

Each guest will be provided a buddy for the evening. If a guest would like to bring his/her own buddy, they can, but make sure they register as a prom buddy volunteer.

How much does it cost?

It is our joy to offer this event at no cost to our guests!

Get Involved!

We need your help!  It takes an incredible amount of people to host Night to Shine and make our guests feel like Stars!  For the safety of our honored guests, background checks are mandatory for any adults 18+ who will be volunteering during the event.  All volunteers must also attend a training event to be held on January 24, 2027 and sign a liability waiver.
